Who We Are
Training sessions in West Hawaiʻi.
Keiki First Foundation was born from a simple truth: West Hawai'i has talented, driven young people — and not enough structured pathways for them to grow. We started with sand volleyball because it is accessible, it builds real athletic skills, and it is deeply woven into the culture of these islands.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every program we run is free to participants. We believe that a family financial situation should never determine whether their child gets to play, compete, or learn.
Our team is made up of coaches, parents, educators, and community members who grew up on this island and want to give back. We are not a national organization with a local chapter — we are Big Island, through and through. This is our home, and these are our keiki.
"We started Keiki First because we saw talented keiki with no pathway. Sand volleyball is our vehicle — but our mission is to build the next generation of West Hawai'i leaders."Keiki First Foundation — Founding Team
Founded in 2024, weʻre a young organization with deep roots. We grow deliberately — adding programs only when we can deliver them with the quality and care our keiki deserve. Every step forward is taken with the families of West Hawaiʻi in mind.
What We Stand For
Athletes can play through their volleyball club. Must have an AAU number to participate. Open court opportunities available — because no keiki should be left on the sidelines.
We train athletes and grow people. Sport is the vehicle; character, resilience, and wellness are the destination. We care about who our keiki become, not just how they play.
We are local. Our coaches, volunteers, and supporters are West Hawaiʻi residents who care deeply about this place and its people. This is our ʻohana.
We grow deliberately. We add programs only when we can deliver them with the quality and consistency our keiki deserve — because they deserve the best.
