Community & Culture

Rooted in the Aloha Spirit.

We are more than a volleyball organization — we are an 'ohana. Our community supports each athlete's journey with mentorship, encouragement, and the deep values of the Hawaiian culture.

Parents, coaches, and community partners come together to ensure every child on the Big Island has access to athletic development.

The Spirit of Aloha

What Aloha Means to Us

In Hawai'i, aloha is more than a greeting — it is a way of living. Each letter carries a value we bring to every practice, every game, and every keiki we serve.

Our Mission

Every keiki deserves the chance to compete, grow, and thrive.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the heart of West Hawaiʻi. No family should ever have to choose between paying bills and letting their child play. Every program we offer is completely free — because every keiki belongs on the court.

Through expert beach volleyball training, wellness education, and competition support, we develop the whole athlete — mind, body, and spirit.

Our story

Community Voices

What our ʻOhana says.

We started this because we watched keiki get left behind — not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked access. Thatʻs not acceptable on the Big Island. Not on our watch.

Sand volleyball isnʻt just a sport to us. Itʻs a classroom. Every serve, every dig, every point teaches a keiki something about discipline, teamwork, and believing in themselves. Weʻre building something permanent — a place where every keiki knows they belong and every family knows theyʻre supported.

Big Island — our home, our community

"We started Keiki First because we saw talented keiki with no pathway. Sand volleyball is our vehicle — but our mission is to build the next generation of West Hawaiʻi leaders."
